Strangers on a Train is a pretty neat Hitchcock movie. Not his best-not particularly thrilling, but an enjoyable film and a movie worthy of its director. However, the screenplay was originally assigned to Raymond Chandler. Apparently, him and Hitchcock butted heads (makes sense) and the script was eventually unrecognizable as Chandler’s, a sentiment he kindly shares in this letter.
